At 35 GB, the sound library featured in The Metal Foundry is larger than that of the flagship programme, which weighs in at 25 gigabytes. Well aware of its large audience falling in the metal genre, Toontrack has since rectified this seeming oversight with the release of The Metal Foundry SDX, an expansion pack for Superior Drummer 2.0, which as its name suggests, is geared toward the heavier side of drumming. And while this in no way detracts from the comprehensive nature of the sounds featured on Superior Drummer 2.0, musicians in the metal genre would fall back on DFH to deliver the goods on their recordings. While Drumkit From Hell was tailored for metal bands and musicians, Superior Drummer 2.0 featured a sound library that was suitable for a wider range of musical styles. Needless to say, The Progressive Foundry SDX continues the tradition of its sibling The Metal Foundry SDX and gives you one of the most profound expansions in the Superior Drummer Line.Users of the original Drumkit from Hell virtual instrument were no doubt surprised at the direction taken by creator Toontrack in their last major offering, Superior Drummer 2.0. This is something our customers have asked for and we’re thrilled to be able offer them two of the most massive expansions we have ever released”, said Toontrack’s CEO Peter Knutsson.įive complete kits, a total of 17 snare drums, 31 cymbals and five hi-hats – all captured on 26 separate channels and spanning a staggering 63 gigabytes of raw, unprocessed sounds. ”We are extremely excited to not only bring drum sounds by one of the most up-and-coming producers in heavy rock today, but for the first time ever offer both Superior Drummer 2 and EZdrummer 2 users new custom content on the same day.

According to Gear Gods, "both products come from a session at the Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne produced by engineer Forrester Savell." This is the first time a product was simultaneously released for both EZX and SDX.
